Talking Helps

I have a vivid imagination. I’m sure many of you do as well. Most often, it is a blessing, but sometimes my imagination makes the dark side a little too vivid. This week I experienced the positive side. While writing one of these dailies, I began to picture what it would be like when we can all meet again in person. Even though I am a professed introvert, I do have a social side for those people I know. As I dreamt of that first time in person after this steadily lengthening season, I found myself having an emotional response, a happy one!

That must have been Thursday since I was taking the trash out, when Cheryl, my wife, and I crossed paths. I told her about my daydream, and a tear came to her eye, too. Then Cheryl commented, “It’s good to know you are human.” My mind jumped to a little phrase that I took from the psychologist who trained me for Critical Incident Stress Management. (I’m not implying that talking to my wife is stressful talking, 19, helps, coronavirus, covid, cv19daily
